With reference to your letter of the 8th August(36177/1921) transmitting a copy of a des-

patch from the Governor of Hong Kong regarding

enemy owned shares on the Shanghai Register of the

Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation, I am

directed by the Board of Trade to state, for the

information of Mr. Secretary Churchill, that the

matter received consideration at a meeting of the

Treaty Execution Committee on the 3rd October
